With Just A Hint Of Amelia

Dearest Princess Amelia, I hear that you will be visiting Flamingo Land so I thought I’d make this months post about Flamingoes. The Royal party from Godderwil will be you, your Mummy Queen Caron and Aunty Catherine. I wish I could be there but I will be at the Reading Festival standing in a muddy field, listening to loud music and surrounded by thousands of smelly people. When you’re much older I might take you with me, or maybe you will have to take me and my Zimmer frame!

Anyway I said that this post would be about Flamingoes so here comes a beautiful song called “Pretty Flamingo”. It was by a group called Manfred Mann and was number 1 in the UK charts in 1965. The song is about a girl whose ‘hair glows like the sun and her eyes can light the sky’. All the boys call her “Pretty Flamingo”. I suspect that she was a very pretty girl, what do you think? Is she as pretty as a certain Princess from Godderwil? A Princess that draws maps?
